Okonjima Plains Camp

Okonjima is not only a luxury lodge, but also home to the AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, especially cheetahs and leopards. Namibia is home to 20% of the cheetah population worldwide. The Africat Foundation is proud to be able to offer not only cheetahs but also leopards, lions, the African wild dogs and Caracals a home. Nocturnal animals such as porcupines and honey badgers can also be observed on night drives. Apart from just being a lodge for visitors, there is also an education and research center on the property, as well as a rehabilitation camp for various animals. On a visit to Okonjima, you can witness AfriCats work. Plains Camp honors the Hanssen’s family cattle-farming heritage with its three-tier accommodation facility of spacious View Rooms, spacious Standard Rooms and affordable Garden Rooms.
