An Exciting Start to the Central Kalahari!

Today marks the beginning of our off-road adventure into this fascinating area. Starting on gravel roads and later venturing onto off-road tracks, we make our way through the deep sands of the Kalahari. This region is not only popular among many animals but also among predators such as big cats.

In the evening, we will camp right in the midst of the wilderness of this breathtaking landscape. The Deception Valley rises amidst a series of beautiful pans known as Pipers Pan. This place is characterized by exceptional beauty, where pans of various sizes and soil types merge into a complex pattern of ecosystems.

Parts of the main pan are covered with waving grass, where lions often hide during the heat of the day. Meerkats and ground squirrels inhabit the edges, while birds of prey patrol the treeline along the ancient shores.

It promises to be an unforgettable experience as we explore the pristine wilderness of the Kalahari and witness the wonders of this landscape up close.

The safari in the Central Kalahari continues today. Along small, sandy tracks, we continue to roam the bush, always on the lookout for the abundant wildlife that this region has to offer.

We keep an eye out for the majestic lions, the elegant cheetahs, the graceful antelopes, and other fascinating creatures that call this wild landscape home. Every turn of the track presents the opportunity for a new animal encounter or a breathtaking view of the endless expanses of the Kalahari.

In the evening, we arrive at our campsite, nestled in the heart of the wilderness. Under the clear starry sky, we gather around the campfire, sharing stories and reflecting on the day's experiences. However, we must remain vigilant, as the campsites are unfenced, and wild animals can roam through or pass by the camp at any time.

We hope for more exciting animal encounters and continue to be enchanted by the beauty and the silence of nature surrounding us.
