This itinerary takes you on a memorable self-drive adventure through Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, beginning with Okonjima. There, you can relax or partake in activities such as leopard tracking and learning about wildlife conservation at the AfriCat Foundation. Continuing to Etosha National Park, the safari experience offers sightings of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more at its famous waterholes. For added adventure, the nearby Onguma Private Game Reserve provides opportunities for walking safaris.
The journey moves north to Namibia’s Zambezi Region, where the lush Caprivi Strip contrasts with arid landscapes, offering river cruises, hiking, and cultural visits to traditional villages. In Kasane, Botswana, the Chobe National Park showcases Africa’s largest elephant population. The trip concludes with the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, where activities include walks by the falls, helicopter rides, and sunset cruises, providing a spectacular end to the adventure.

At the Windhoek International Airport you will be met by a Representative of the Car Hire Company that will welcome you and take you directly to the Car hire company in Windhoek. At the Car Hire Company, you will be met by a Meine Namibia Safaris Representative and they will assist you with the procedure of receiving your vehicle. Thereafter, the representative will discuss your Tour in detail with you. Once all has been discussed, you will have the opportunity to purchase a few things for your tour at a local supermarket and head to your Guesthouse, where you can relax and enjoy the afternoon at own leisure.

After a good breakfast, you will depart on the first day of your northern Namibia Adventure. You will be travelling mostly on a tarred road to Okonjima Plains Camp. The afternoon in Okonjima invites you to participate in one of the many activities available or to simply relax by the pool. We highly recommend joining the spectacular Leopard Tracking Activity. Okonjima Lodge also serves as the base camp of the AfriCat Foundation, where you can learn more about the human-wildlife conflict in Southern Africa and have the chance to see some of the orphaned animals.

You will be the driver of your own safari, a unique experience in Africa. However, the camps in and around the park also offer guided game drives. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more species. Settle near one of the park's waterholes and marvel at the sheer number of animals gathering here to quench their thirst. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes arrive in large numbers from all directions! This is truly an unforgettable experience!

Today you have the opportunity to observe animals in the Etosha National Park. From Okaukuejo Resort you will drive along the southern edge of the salt pan. This area is very popular with the animals and through the sparse vegetation you have the opportunity to see the animals from afar. A snack or even a light lunch the Halali Resort is recommended.
You will have to leave the park on through the eastern gate, the “Von Lindequist Gate”, which is located only a few kilometers away from your accommodation, the beautiful Onguma Bush Camp.

As you drive further north, you will experience a whole new side of Namibia.
Today you'll have a long journey ahead of you, mostly on straight tarred roads. Your accommodation is located near the Okavanog River, bordering Namibia and Angola.
From dry sands, you’ll enter the lush wetlands of the 'Caprivi Strip' and discover a much more vibrant Africa around you. Small villages and settlements will line your route, offering a glimpse into the lively culture of the Zambezi region.

Today the journey leads lead you to the starting point of the Namibian Caprivi Strip and Mahango National Park. Nunda River Lodge is located on the banks of the Okavango River, overlooking the Popa Falls. Popular activities in the area include fishing and hiking and river cruises.

Chobe National Park, home to the largest elephant population in Africa.
In the eastern Zambezi region, you will cross the border into Botswana and stay in Kasane. This town serves as the perfect base for exploring the stunning Chobe National Park, which is home to Africa's largest elephant population. Up to 200,000 of these gentle giants roam freely within the park.

Today you have time to explore the Chobe National Park. You can either do this on your own as a Self-Driver or on a Guided Tour. The Chobe Park offers a great experience and it is best advised to drive along the banks of the Zambezi River, where large herds of animals often come to drink water. There are also Hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water.
Driving through this beautiful landscape with your own car is an incredible experience. There’s even a designated picnic spot, but be cautious of the cheeky monkeys who might try to steal your food!
Don’t miss a boat cruise to witness elephants bathing and to get close to hippos and crocodiles hiding beneath the water’s surface.
In the afternoon, you will return your car to a representative of the car hire company at your accommodation.
