Today marks the beginning of our off-road adventure into the breathtaking Central Kalahari. We start by following gravel roads before venturing deeper into the national park along challenging sandy tracks. Our destination for today is Xade Campsite, located in the southern part of the park and serving as the perfect base for the exciting safari days ahead. Surrounded by the vast, untouched landscapes of the Kalahari, we can fully appreciate the unique atmosphere of this remote wilderness. The peaceful surroundings, endless horizons, and spectacular star-filled sky make this first night in the bush a truly unforgettable experience.

After an early breakfast, we continue our safari through the spectacular landscapes of the Central Kalahari. Leaving Xade behind, we follow sandy off-road tracks towards Piper Pan, taking plenty of time to enjoy wildlife viewing along the way. The ever-changing scenery of open grasslands, scattered acacia trees, and vast salt pans provides excellent opportunities to discover the remarkable wildlife of the Kalahari.
With a bit of luck, we may encounter the famous black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetahs, brown hyenas, or large herds of antelope. Giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and a wide variety of birds of prey are also commonly seen in this region.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Piper Pan, one of the most beautiful and impressive pans in the Central Kalahari. Its vast open spaces and striking scenery give this area a truly unique character. Parts of the pan are covered with tall grasses, where lions often rest during the heat of the day. Meerkats and ground squirrels are frequently seen along the edges of the pan, while birds of prey scan the landscape for their next meal from the old trees lining the area.
Once again, we spend the evening camping in the heart of the wilderness. As the sun sets and the stars illuminate the African sky, we gather around the campfire and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Kalahari.
